The organization does not accept walk-ins. Potential clients and former clients with new cases should contact Just Neighbors at 703-979-1240. If the client falls within Just Neighbors' income guidelines (200% or less of the Federal Poverty Guidelines) and is seeking help with a type of case that the organization handles, an appointment will be scheduled for an initial consultation. Alternatively, the client may be referred to a qualified legal services provider or private attorney.
Intakes for new clients and cases are conducted at Just Neighbors' offices and community clinics in Arlington and Herndon. A nominal fee of $50 is charged for initial consultations, and there is no additional fee to Just Neighbors regardless of the complexity of the case. There is no consultation fee for victims of domestic violence. Potential clients should bring the following documents to their consultations, if applicable:
- Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year;
- Passport and I-94 card;
- Documents to show current immigration status (including work permit or green card);
- Court records for victims of crimes and domestic violence; and
- Copies of all documents filed with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly INS) and correspondence received from the immigration agency.
